* SCC Women’s Basketball Goes 1-2 In NWAACC Crossover

The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team went 1-2 over the weekend at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament in Ontario, OR at Treasure Valley College with 8 teams from across the NWAACC participating.

 

SCC opened the tournament against the host team, Treasure Valley CC, and the Dolphins came up short, 67-51. Kylie Williams lead SCC with 22 points.

 

In the consolation round, Shoreline faced Clark College from Vancouver, WA and defeated the Penguins, 59-52. Kylie Williams again led SCC with 19 points while Lynsey Sandum added 12. Clark led at half-time by 1 but Shoreline outscored Clark by 8 points in the second half to take the victory.

On Sunday, in the Consolation Final, SCC faced Lower Columbia College and shot only 21% in the first half and fell behind early and Lower Columbia pounded the Dolphins 72-55. Kylie Williams again led the Lady Dolphins with 15 points.

 

SCC is now 4-4 on the season and have already matched the number of wins for the team in 2009-10. SCC will now take a Christmas break from games and resume play on January 5 against Bellevue College at BC in the opening game of NWAACC Northern Region play.

* SCC Women’s Basketball Goes 1-1 Over The Weekend

The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team split two games over the weekend. SCC traveled to Yakima Valley CC on Saturday and was defeated by the Lady Yaks, 87-39. SCC was caught in snowstorm on the way over and shot just as cold, shooting only 25% for the game and falling behind 40-20 at half and never getting into the game during the second half. Lynsey Sandum led SCC with 13 points.

 

On Sunday, SCC defeated Douglas College 60-34 as SCC held Douglas to just 8 field goals in the game. The first half featured bad shooting on both sides, as Douglas shot only 7% and SCC 21%. Douglas only made one field goal in the first half as SCC led 20-11 at the break. Shoreline came out in the second half and took control in the first five minutes, as they pushed the lead to 20 points and never looked back. Lynsey Sandum led the Lady Dolphins again in scoring wtih 22 points and Kylie Williams added 12 points with 10 rebounds, and five steals. Jenny Voss added 7 steals and four assists.

 

SCC is now 3-2 on the season and travel to the NWAACC Crossover Tournament next weekend in Ontario, OR, at Treasure Valley Community College. SCC takes on the host school, TVCC, at 7 p.m. on Friday night, December 17th.

* Women’s Basketball Defeats Northwest Indian College

hooyman1.jpgThe Lady Dolphin Basketball Team defeated Northwest Indian College on Friday in Bellingham, WA by the score of 73-56. This is the second time SCC has defeated NWIC this season.

 

The SCC squad was led by Nani Hooyman who scored 18 points, followed by Kylie Williams with 15 and Lynsey Sandrum with 14 points.

 

SCC is 2-1 on the year and travel to Yakima Valley Community College on Saturday for a 2 p.m.game and then return home on Sunday, to face Douglas College from Vancouver, BC for a 2 p.m. home game in the SCC Gym.
