SCC Women's Soccer Goes 1-1 at NWAACC Friendlies Tournament:
The Lady Dolphins got off to a good start to the 2012 season at the NWAACC Friendlies Tournament, going 1-1 at the tournament, but besides 3 minutes early in the opening match of the tournament, dominating play the rest of the two matches.
In the opener, Columbia Basin scored two goals in the first 3 minutes of the match, with the first goal coming as SCC seemed confused off the opening kickoff and allowing CBC to come down the field and score on a point blank shot and then a second goal, 1 minute later off a deflected shot on goal.
Shoreline dominated play from that moment on, having several scoring opportunities and allowing CBC only 1 real shot on goal. Freshman Kayla Browne broke through for SCC and then the team had several chances to go,including a missed shot in the last minute to an open goal.
Against Tacoma Community College on the second day of the tournament, SCC dominated play for the start of the match and won 5-0, as Kayla Browne and Sara Gilmore scored two goals each and Kendra Holley added the 5th.
The Lady Dolphins return to play on Saturday, September 8th at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus against Clackamas Community College from Oregon.
