MOOCs: Massive Open Online Courses
During the summer of 2014, Shoreline Community College offered its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the web. MOOCs represent the latest stage in the evolution of open educational resources (OER). Shoreline's MOOCs are open and free to the community, allowing anyone access to college-level learning experience facilitated by college professors. They are offered on the MOOC platform Canvas.Net.
Food and Wellness Around the Globe
FREE online, no-credit course runs July 11 - August 19, 2016
During the summer of 2016, Alison Leahy and Amy Rovner will once again celebrate food and its relationship to wellness around the world. This will be the second time they have taught this course. The first time was in 2015 when over 1300 participants investigated culinary and dietary practices from six regions around the world, looking at the correlation and interconnections between food and health.
