TSS Server maintenance complete

At 9am on Saturday, Nov 22 maintenance was started for SCC's main server room. All servers and services were restored at about 12pm. IMAP and POP3 service to mail server SCCMail3 was down until 4:15p but is now operational.

503 Server Busy Errors for Web Transaction Server Processes

Users have been reporting errors accessing Instructor's Briefcase, Web Earnings History and other WTS processes. CIS reports that other colleges have reported similar problems, which may be related to the recent Financial Aid conversion. CIS staff are looking into the problem. Currently it appears that the HP3000 transaction process is not running. CIS is now in the process of restarting that job.

Server failure
The server hosting files for student lab accounts and other shared files for staff, faculty, and students failed at 6:30p, Thurs, Nov 20. The file services were restored at 8:30p.

Resolved: Lab print server is down
The print server for lab printers, LAB-PRTSRV-1, may be down. This post will be updated when more is known.
Update: The server was not responding from the console so it was restarted Wednesday morning and is working again.

Email spam filter problem
There was a problem with filtering email for spam on one of our servers. This led to a large number of spam emails being delivered to users' inboxes. The problem was fixed on Nov 6 at 8am.
