SPAM Filter Update - Tuesday, December 18
Repairs to the SPAM filter are proving challenging and work is continuing. We hope to have the SPAM filter fixed shortly and will provide further updates via TSSToday and all campus mail.

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

If you have Outlook 2003 you can turn on its filtering, which will help quite a bit. Follow the instructions below:

1. Click Actions, then Junk E-mail, then Junk E-Mail Options

2. Under Junk E-Mail Options, checkmark Low, which will block obvious spam and generate few false positives.

3. Click OK.

If you don't have Office 2003 installed on your computer, contact TSS at 546-5872 to schedule installation. Note that if demand is high there may be a delay before your installation appointment can be scheduled.

Thank you,

SPAM Filter Problems - Update
Monday, December 17, 3:40pm

In an effort to increase functionality, TSS installed a new product on the front-end mail servers for campus on Friday, December 14th.  Unfortunately, the new software conflicted with the anti-spam software, causing the anti-spam filter to function only partially.  This is the cause for the hundreds of SPAM messages appearing in users' Inbox folders.

TSS staff are working diligently to resolve the problem.  As soon as the problem is fixed, we will send another all-campus email.  Check back with TSSToday for updates.

Thank you for your patience.
