4102 lab status

100 new computers have been placed in 4102.  The keyboards shipped with the new computers don't reach the CPUs because they have shorter cords then the ones that we have previously received.  The vendor is shipping replacement keyboards which should arrive this week.

Bandwidth Upgrade Status
The latest word from the vendor that will be installing the fiber for our bandwidth upgrade is, the fiber has been ordered, but it is still three weeks out.
FOSS Printer Status
The parts for the FOSS faculty printer are expect to arrive either tomorrow morning or early next week.  Currently all print jobs are being rerouted to the Ricoh printer.  Macintosh users are currently unable to print because that model of copier does not support postscript.
Computer moves
TSS will be very busy moving computers beginning tomorrow, June 15th.  100 computers are schedule to arrive to upgrade the library student lab.  Some of the displaced computers will be used to upgrade the library reference computers.
Residual problems from Friday's UPS problem

Network outage this afternoon caused buy UPS technician
Despite assurance from the vendor that the work would not cause any problems, a technician working on the UPS cut power to the server room.  Every device in the server room spontaneously rebooted, causing a chain reaction of snow balling network anomalies.  After such a failure it takes time for everything to stabilize.  It took an hour for all network resources to be restored.  At least one server suffered from database corruption, others are being checked.
