Outlook issue with Exchange
|
One of the services (Microsoft Exchange Address Book) on one of the Exchange servers (SCC-EX2010-CAS1) was not started thus causing connectivity issues for some users of Outlook. It took a bit of time to locate this as the problem but once resolved Outlook was able to connect to the mail server.

File server quotas
|
In order to better manage and plan for file server and backup service resource allocation TSS has implemented quotas on department and personal folders.
The default quota on personal folders is currently 10GB. Users whose home folders exceeded this limit at the time of migration were given a higher quota and will be consulted regarding ongoing quota requirements. Should additional space be required for any user please contact TSS.
Department folders were set based on usage at the time of migration from the old server. These quota level can be adjusted based on need and available resources.

File services update - Home folders
|
The work to retire the file server Rizzo and upgrade file services to a modern architecture is progressing. Users are asked to reboot their computer if it was not shut down the previous day.
Home folders have been moved out of department folders to allow for easier, automated management and streamlined application of quotas. In order to ease the transition symbolic folders have been created for home folders (which previously lived in department folders) to point to the new location of the user's home folder. These symbolic links appear as shortcuts and allow for the same navigational access as if the folder were still housed within the department folder.
Home folders are intended to be available via mapping to the H: drive. If you do not see an H: drive mapped to your personal folder please open a work request with TSS. Additionally, home folders are available from the UNC share of \\sccts\home\user

Rizzo file server retirement and shortcuts
|
Shortcuts made to the file server Rizzo are no longer supported and will need to be updated or recreated.
The S: drive and X: drives now point to the namespace shares \\SCCTS\Dept and \\SCCTS\Dept\XShare.
Home folder will also be migrated to a new namespace and TSS will have more information about that in a separate communication.
