Scheduling
All studio time is booked through the recording studios website http://www.shoreline.edu/sccstudio. You are allowed to book one time per studio each week. If you feel yuou need mroe time you contact your instructor the the recording studio manager and more time will be allowed if available.
You can cancle studio time as long as it is not within 24 hours. If you need to cancel a session that is within 24 hours you must contact the studio office to do so. If you repeatedly cancel time with short notice we will begin to limit your studio access.
Time not booked day of is available for drops ins. You msut check in with the studio office when you arrive. -
Studio A & C
Students can sign up for one 3 hour block per week. \
All tracking sessions, 6 hours blocks, are scheduled in class by the instructor. All remaining time will be made available for online scheduling.
Studio A and C are reserved for second-year Multitrack Music Production students only without special permission. -
Studio B & D
Students can sign up for one 3 hour block per week.
More time can be booked when available.
Studio B and D are reserved for second-year Audio Post Production students only without special permission. -
Stations N - W (820)
Students can sign up for one 3 hour block per week.
More time can be booked when available. Stations are scheduled in 3 hour blocks. Students can schedule more time if need, provided that time is available.
Additional time must still be scheduled through the studio office. -
MIDI Lab A - L (814)
MIDI lab time is first come first serve.
You are still required to check in with the supervisor when using any of these workstations. -
Late Policy
If you are 15 minutes late without contacting the supervisor on duty (206-546-4607), your studio time becomes available for walk-ins.
If you do not show up, you will lose all studio rights until you speak with an instructor. -
Equipment
Do not unplug or change any cabling (besides your Firewire or, USB drives) behind the Studios, Station, and MIDILAB without supervisor or faculty permission. If something isn't working find a supervisor to help. DO NOT UNPLUG ANYTHING. If you suspect equipment is not working let us know so we can fix it.
Food and Drink are NOT allowed in the studios at any time for any reason. You have been warned! Also, wash your hands before using the equipment, thats just gross.
You are responsible for your own data. Please back up your data on your own media. Data will be erased each time we do regular maintenance on a workstation or studio or as needed. Unnamed
You are required to follow the directions of the Music Tech Faculty, Staff, and Supervisors at all times when using our facilities. Failure to do so will result in loss of studio privledges.
Come prepared to your session. Bring your headphones, Firewire cables, and anything else you need. The recording studios do not provide the following: headphones, 1/8" to 1/4" adapters, headphone splitters, or Firewire cables. If you need them, bring them.
Also note that we do not provide musical instruments, AKA Funkngroove and Jazz band equipment, for recording sessions. Your musicians need to bring their own amps cables and whatever else they need to perform.

Student ID
Please have your student ID cards ready when using the Studios and Stations.
You will need to check your ID into the supervisor on duty when you are using any equipment, including the studios and stations. If you don't have a Student ID get one today in the Campus Library or Book Store.
Also, MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT ID HAS THE VALID QUARTER STICKER, WITHOUT THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE STUDIOS. -
Guests
You are only allowed one guest at a time with you when using the studios and stations. A guest constitutes someone not enrolled in Music Tech classes. Your guest MUST CHECK IN when you do.
If you need to have more then one guest at any given time then that needs to be arranged with the a supervisor or faculty on a case by case basis.
Be aware that your guest's actions are considered your own. Make sure your guests follow all Recording Studio Policies or you both will be asked to leave.
Tracking Sessions scheduled in Studio A or Studio C do not have a guest limit, however, they are still responsible for their guest's actions.
