Homework Assignments for Fall 2011:

Class is over.  I have finished grading.  You will be able to see all your grades by going to WAMAP -- your final course percentage is called "Weighted Total %."  Information about how the % translates into a course grade is in the syllabus; in general, you needed 70% or better to earn a 2.0 in this course.

Answers to the final exam: Version A (white) or Version B (ivory)

No more homework from the book will be due.  There are no more quizzes.  We will be reviewing in class during the week of November 28th; participation will count toward your homework score.

Review worksheets done in class on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday:
Translation (pink/orange) and its answers
Translation (blue) and its answers
Translation (green) and its answers

Review Sheet #1 and its answers
Review Sheet #2 and its answers
Review Sheet #3 and its answers

No classes on Monday December 5th.  Finals week starts on December 6th.

Our final exam is on Thursday December 8th, from 7:30 am until 9:20 am, in the usual room.  Note the earlier start time!  If this time poses a problem for you, you can arrange to take the final exam early (but you can't take it late).

Earlier homework assignments are below.

Homework Rules:

I will collect daily homework from you.  I will announce the homework assignments in class and post them here on the website.   You will get full credit for your homework if it is complete, follows the guidelines (see below), and is turned in on time.  Late homework will not be accepted, but you may hand in anything early.  You can miss up to ten homework assignments without penalty to your final grade.   Books are available on reserve in the library, and in the Math Learning Center.

Guidelines for homework:

bulletUse standard sized (around 8½” x 11”) paper with no torn or fringed edges.
bulletPut your name and due date at the top of the first page.
bulletStaple the pages in order, if you have more than one page.
bulletBe neat and legible.
bulletShow your steps clearly.
bulletAnswers to word problems must be complete sentences.
bulletUse straight edges and graph paper for graphs

Practice Problems:

You may want to do more problems than I collect.  You can do the other problems in the book.  Or, if you want even more, the website www.interactmath.com has lots of practice problems like the ones in your textbook.  (When you go to the website, click ENTER, then choose Tobey Beginning Algebra 7th edition.)  And it’s fun to work on them.
