Test Correction Instructions for Exam 2

By doing these test corrections, you can get back up to half of the points you lost on the exam.  Read all instructions carefully before beginning!  I will not read any solution for which the instructions are not followed.

1.  Do all work on a separate sheet of paper – do not make any new markings on your exam.

2.  For every problem or part of a problem (such as 3(b)) for which you lost points, write a thorough solution to the exam problem.  Then, write a thorough solution to the corresponding textbook problem, listed below.  (As a check to make sure you’re doing the right problem, it should seem closely related to the exam problem.)

3.  Staple or paper clip your solutions to your exam and hand them in at or before 12:30 PM (the beginning of class) on Thursday, May 29th.  If you hand them in outside of class time, you must bring them to my office or get them stamped and put them in my mailbox in the FOSS building.  I will not accept late test corrections.

You may not copy solutions from any other student, and any evidence of copying or cheating of any kind will result in a grade of 0 for the entire exam.  You may, however, use your notes and textbook.  You are also welcome to get as much help as you want from me or the tutors in the Math Learning Center.  If you finish sufficiently early, you may even ask me to check your solutions before they are due.  You must show all of your work to receive credit, and no partial credit will be given for any problem, so make sure that you are confident in your answers and have shown every necessary step.
