PROGRAM CODES FOR TRANSFER
STUDENTS
Starting Fall Quarter 1999, transfer program codes will change to an
alphabetical system which better indicates a student's transfer
goal. All new transfer students should be assigned a code in the new
way and assigned an appropriate advisor. The "B" intent code
preceding the program code will remain the same.
Professional/Technical and special programs students will still be
coded in the old way.
How
to determine a transfer student's program code
The first two characters
of the code will designate the intended transfer institution. For
example, UW will designate the University of Washington. The second
two characters
will designate the intended major area. For example, BU will
designate a student's
intention to major in business. Using this format, a student
intending to transfer to
Eastern Washington University and major in psychology would be coded
EWSS (SS for
social sciences).
