The ADN & BSN Nursing Programs--The Four Year Interface
"Transitions to Excellence in Nursing Education"
Featuring:
BSN Pre-requisites and Associate Degree Nursing Program at Shoreline Community College
New Early Admission Policy for the BSN Program
New Seamless Four Year Model Program of Studies
Is this program for you?
1. Can you attend college full
time?
This option focuses on four years
of full time study. If you wish to go to college part time, you must plan to take the same
program in a greater number of years.
2. Are you ready to begin college
level courses now?
This option expects that you have
all the necessary background to immediately begin college level English, mathematics, and
sciences. You will need to have met the University of Washington requirements for
admission that include two years of language study in high school or two college quarters
of a single language. (American Sign Language is accepted for this requirement.) If you
need any developmental courses or to make up missed high school math, sciences or
language, you will need more than the four years.
What if I decide later that I can't keep going to school full time?
1. Have you completed enough
courses for admission to the ADN program?
If no, complete the courses
needed for ADN admission and apply to the ADN program.
If yes, apply to the ADN program and
plan to continue your education to UWB at a later date.
2. Have you completed the ADN
program?
If no, complete the ADN program and become an RN. Then consider your future
decisions.
If yes, become an RN. You may
continue on to the UWB at any time in the future. There is no time limit on the using the
course work you have taken for the ADN program.
