Master Class: Ellen Boyle
Back to Master Classes OverviewEllen Boyle received her BFA in Musical Theatre and Dance from the University of Michigan and her MFA in Acting from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She has performed locally with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, ACT, the Bathhouse Theatre and the Seattle Childrens' Theatre. Internationally she has performed in Greece, Cyprus, Germany and Japan.
An active member of VASTA (The Voice and Speech Teachers' Association) Ellen is currently an Assistant Professor and Area Head of Voice and Speech at Cornish College of the Arts where she has been on the faculty since 1997. A yoga practitioner since 1984, Ellen received her Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification upon completing the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training here in Seattle in 2002. She is currently a mentor to other practitioners studying for their certification. She has been teaching at Samadhi Yoga Studio on Capitol Hill since 2002 and teaches a Voice for the Yoga Teacher workshop as part of the teacher training.
Passionate about the ways in which yoga can free the voice, Ellen uses yoga in all of her voice classes as a way to free the body/mind for healthy and articulate vocal production.
