Tsubasa Takahashi Named SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

1msoccer.jpegShoreline Community College Athletics is proud to announce Tsubasa Takahashi as this week’s Dolphin Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.  Takahashi has shown continued heart and dedication to the team on the field.


This week Takahashi was able to score an early goal in their game against Whatcom Community College. Takahashi’s provided a jolt of energy for the Dolphins and led the team to their first tie of the season breaking the teams losing streak.


The Dolphins will be taking on Skagit Valley College at Dolphin Field on Wednesday, November 3rd at 2:15 pm directly following the Women’s Soccer game. This will be the final home game for Shoreline of the season. Please come out to support the Dolphins on their Sophomore day!


SCC Names Samuel Kangala as SCC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week!

Soccer Goalie is this week’s SCC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Kangala has had a terrific season fighting against some of the top goal scoring teams in the conference. Last , week he held on for his team and prevented any scoring in the second half.  Kangala is a leader on this Dolphin team and always puts forth the full effort.

SCC is currently 0-13-1 on the season. The Dolphins  will be playing tomorrow Saturday, October 27th against Edmonds Community College at Edmonds.

Shoreline Community College Men’s Soccer Claims First Region Tie Against Whatcom Community College

The Dolphin Men’s Soccer team took on Whatcom Community College today at Dolphin Field and was able to pull off their first tie. This is a step in the right direction for the Dolphin team that has come out on the losing side in every game prior.

SCC forward Tsubasa Takahashi opened up the game with a breakaway goal 20 minutes into the game. Whatcom struggled in the first half continually hitting the goal posts and could not counter the goal by Takahashi.

Opening the second half Whatcom came out with significant energy. There were Whatcom’s Davis Strawn scored off of a foul kick on the sideline from his teammate Ryo Matsubara. The momentum continued and in the 85th minute Daniel Pinkerton of Whatcom scored on a breakaway.

SCC did not give up hope and in the 87th minute Javier Perez scored a goal assisted by Victor Labarthe. Both teams continued to battle in the last few minutes of play but were unable to convert and the game ended in a tie 2-2.

Shoreline Men’s Soccer now has a record of 0-13-1 ending their prior losing streak. WCC picks up their first conference tie and now has a record of 6-4-2. SCC Men’s Soccer will go to Edmonds Community College for their next game on Saturday, October 27th at 2:15pm, directly following the SCC Women’s Soccer game against Edmonds.

SCC Men's Soccer Battles Hard But Drops 1-0 Match To Everett CC:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer Team had a old but familiar face on the sidelines on Saturday, as former SCC Coach George Dremousis filled in for current Coach S
teve Neff while he was away at his brother's wedding but the result was the same, as SCC dropped a 1-0 match to the Trojans and dropped to 0-13-0 for the season.

The Dolphins dominated play in the early minutes, hitting the goal post twice but could not put the ball in the net. Everett got a goal in the 40th minute and went into half-time with a 1-0 lead.

SCC has been having horrible troubles in the second half, giving up tons of goals, but the SCC defense played well in the second half against Everett, but could not muster any real offensive threats itself in the second half and dropped the match, 1-0.

SCC is now 0-13-0 for the season and their losing streak is at 16 matches going back to 2011. Everett CC moved to 7-4-1 overall and the Trojans are now in a tie for first place in the region with Edmonds CC at 19 points and a 6-3-1 record

The Dolphins face Whatcom CC on Wednesday at Dolphin Field at 3:00pm and travel to Edmonds on Saturday to take on the Tritons.
SCC Men's Soccer Drops 4-1 Match To Skagit Valley College On Wednesday
The Dolphin Soccer Team traveled to Mt. Vernon, WA on Wednesday to face the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College and came back with a 4-1 defeat. 

SVC struck early, scoring their first goal the third minute and adding second goal at30S_8089g.jpg the half-hour mark. SCC cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Owusu Fordjour at the 55 minute mark with help from Javier Perez with an assist. But Skagit scored two more goals later in the second half to seal the match away.

Shoreline drops to 0-13-0 on the year, with their losing streak extended to 16 matches counting the end of last season. SVC goes to 5-8-1 on the year and 3-5-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region.

Shoreline faces Everett CC on Saturday at 2:15pm at Dolphin Field on the SCC Campus.

Shoreline Community College announced on Sunday that Javier Perez has been named SCC's "Men's Soccer Player of the Week"

Perez scored SCC's lone goal on Saturday in their match with South Puget Sound Community College. Javier's goal leveled the score at 1-1 but SPSCC scored twice in the second half to win the match.

SCC is now 0-11-0 on the season. The Dolphins play two matches this week, as they travel to Skagit Valley College on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon for a 3:00pm match and then host rival Everett Community College on Saturday at Dolphin Field at 2:15pm on Saturday.
SCC Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Match To South Puget Sound
The SCC Men's Soccer woes continued on Saturday, as the Dolphins dropped a 3-1 match South Puget Sound, who had came into the match 0-12-1. The loss keeps SCC winless itself and on a 1
4 game losing streak going back to 2011.


SPS came out blazing, scoring the first goal on in the first minute of play. SCC tied the match up on a goal by Javier Perez in the 37th minute. The teams went into half-time tied at 1-1.

The Dolphins 2nd half troubles continued, as SCC gave up two goals in the final 45 minutes. Shoreline missed several opportunities to score in the second half, hitting the cross bar and missing a point blank shot.

The Dolphins are now 0-11-0 on the season, 0-8-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. The team travels to face Skagit Valley College on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon, WA at 3:00pm.

SCC Names Owusu Fordjour Men's Soccer Player of the Week
30S_8089g.jpgShoreline Community College Named Owusu Fordjour Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his play during the week of October 1 to 7, 2012.

Fordjour, a freshman from Shorewood High School in Shoreline, scored the lone SCC goal of the week, coming the 10-1 loss to #5 ranked Chemeketa CC on Saturday in Salem, Or. The goal cut the CCC lead to 3-1 in the first half, but the Storm scored 7 goals in the second half to rout the Dolphins.

SCC faces South Puget Sound on Saturday at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus at 2:15pm. SCC is 0-10-0 on the season and face a SPSCC squad that should be 0-11-1 on Saturday.
SCC Men's Soccer On The Bad End of 10-1 Score
The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer Team was pounded on Saturday at #5 Chemeketa Community College, as the Storm put a 10-1 score on the Dolphins in the worst defeat for SCC this season.

CCC only led at 3-1 at halftime, as SCC Owusu Fordjour's goal with at the 41 minute mark gave the Dolphins hope of getting back into the match, but Chemeketa's Wyatt Brown scored four straight goals in a 15 minute span early in the second half to push CCC's led to 7-1 and the continued habit of the Dolphins giving up several goals in a short period of time in the 2nd half continued.

SCC has a week off and faces South Puget Sound on Saturday, October 13th at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus at 2:15pm. SCC is now 0-10-0 for the season. South Puget Sound should enter the match with a 0-11-1 record after facing Chemeketa CC on Wednesday

SCC Soccer On The Road at Chemeketa Today
The Shoreline Community College Soccer Teams are on the road today at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, OR.

The Lady Dolphins will be playing with a reduced squad as the injury bug has benched several players for today's match. SCC is 4-3-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the region. Chemeketa comes into the match with a 1-6-2 record and 1-4-2 in the Southern Region. This game does count in both standings as a mandated crossover match bet
ween regions.

The SCC Men's Team still struggles to find offensive and defensive rt hymn and continues to increase its roster with new players to find the right combination. The Dolphins are still winless on the season at 0-9-0 and face a good Storm team who is ranked #5 in the NWAACC and 4-3-4 on the season, but 4-0-2 in the region. 

The Lady Dolphins return home on Wednesday, to face Green River CC at 2:00pm. Both teams are in action next Saturday, at Dolphin Field, as the women face Lane College and the men, South Puget Sound.

SCC Men's Soccer Drops 5-0 Match To Edmonds CC:

The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer Team remained win-less on the 2012 season with a 5-0 loss to rival Edmonds CC on Wednesday afternoon at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus.

SCC play
ed a solid first half, having scoring opportunities early, but ECC scored in the 24th minute and then again 8 minutes later to lead at half-time 2-0.

SCC played well in the early stages of the second half, but the Triton exploded for three goals in the last 15 minutes of the match to take a good game into a lopsided victory, 5-0.

SCC losing streak is now 9 games for the 2012 season and 12 going back to the end of the 2011 year.

Shoreline is now 0-9-0 for the year, 0-6-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Edmonds leads the region with a 5-1-1 record, 6-5-2 overall.

SCC travels to Salem, OR on Saturday to face Chemeketa Community College at 2:00pm.

Eduardo Labarthe Named SCC "Men's Soccer Player of the Week"
Eduardo Labarthe Named SCC "Men's Soccer Player of the Week"

300_2829s.jpgShoreline Community College announced today that freshman Eduardo Labarthe has been named as the SCC's "Men's Soccer Player of the Week" for his efforts during the week of September 24-30.

Eduardo played consistent defense for the Dolphins in their lone game during the week, a loss to Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA on Wednesday.

SCC is 0-8-0 for the season and begins the second half of the year this Wednesday against arch rival Edmonds Community College at Dolphin Field on the SCC Campus at 4:15pm. Edmonds will enter the game as the Northern Region leader at 4-1-1 in region play and 5-5-2 overall.
