SCC Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Match To Everett CC, Out of Playoffs

The Dolphin Soccer Team could not find the back of the net on Wednesday afternoon at the Dolphin Soccer Field. SCC played hard for 90 minutes, but could not muster any offense as they lost to Everett Community College 1-0 and were eliminated from the NWAACC Playoffs. 

Everett scored in the 26th minute and made the goal stand-up.

SCC is now 2-13-1 on the season and 2-9-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC still has two more games left, next Wednesday at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA and they finish at home next Saturday against rival Edmonds CC. 

Last season, SCC started off 0-7-2 on the season, but caught fire in the second half of the year, winning 8 straight and reaching the NWAACC Final Four, but this season, after another slow start, the Dolphins just could not turn it around.

Greg Wolfe Named SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Wolfe, a sophomore from Oak Harbor High School, scored two goals against Skagit Valley College on Saturday to lead SCC to its second win of the year. SCC routed the Cardinals for the second time this season, 5-2 at the SCC Soccer Field. SCC also lost 3-1 on Wednesday.

SCC is 2-13-1 on the season, 2-8 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC plays Everett CC on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. If SCC wins on Wednesday, they will pull themselves to within one point of Everett, who is in third place in the region. The top three teams in each region make the NWAACC playoffs. Everett beat Shoreline 2-0 on October 8.

SCC Defeats Skagit Valley 5-2

Sophomore Greg Wolfe from Oak Harbor High School, scored two goals as SCC picked up its second win of the year on Saturday against Skagit Valley College on a wet SCC Soccer Field. SCC two wins of the year have came against SVC.

Connor Barton opened the scoring for Shoreline at the 25 minute mark on an assistant from Beto Tammyo. Mikey Haan scored 5 minutes later to put SCC up 2-0 which held up to half-time. SCC came out quickly in the second half, with Tommy Hering scoring at the 52 minute mark from an assist from Jason Major and Wolfe scored two minutes later to put SCC up 4-0.

Skagit scored on a penalty kick 71 minutes into the game but Wolfe came right back to score his second goal. Skagit then scored at the 87 minute mark to end the scoring for the day.

SCC is now 2-13-1 on the season, 2-8 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Skagit Valley is now 3-9 on the season and 1-9 in the region. Both teams played the match with only 12 players each due to injuries.

 SCC plays on Wednesday against Everett Community College at 4:00 PM at the SCC Soccer Field. Everett defeated SCC 2-0 earlier in the season.

SCC Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Match To Edmonds

The Shoreline Community College Men’s Soccer Team continues to fall on hard times, dropping a 3 to 1 contest to Edmonds Community College on Wednesday at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA. 

Jacob Hibbard scored the lone goal for SCC to tie the match in the 15th minute of the game. ECC scored again in the 35th minute to take a 2-1 halftime lead and scored a goal in the 90th minute to seal the match.

SCC is now 1-13-1 on the season and 1-8-0 in the region, Edmonds is 5-8-1 overall and 3-5-1. SCC is now 7 points out from third place, the final Northern region playoff spot. SCC begins the second half of Northern Region schedule at home on Saturday against Skagit Valley College. SCC beat SVC two weeks ago 4-2 on the road. Match time is 2:15 at Dolphin Field.

Jake Lagucik Named SCC's Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Lagucik, a sophomore mid-fielder from Edmonds Woodway High School scored SCC's lone goal in its 3-1 loss to Whatcom CC on Saturday. SCC Men's Soccer has struggled this year to a 1-12-1 record after winning the NWAACC Northern Region in 2010.

SCC plays rival Edmonds Community College at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA on Wednesday at 2:00 PM.

SCC Men's Soccer Playoffs Hopes Fade With 3-1 Loss

The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer team loss on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field 3-1 to Whatcom Community College. With the loss, the Dolphins chances of returning to the NWAACC playoffs are fading with only 5 games left in the regular season. 

SCC could not overcome the 2 goals and assistant by WCC's Andrew Mihovilovich. Whatcom jumped out in front on a goal by Mihovilovich, SCC's Jake Lagucik tied it later in the first half as both teams went to half-time even at 1-1. Whatcom got a second goal by Mihovilavich to take the lead late in the second half and followed that up with another goal two minutes later to put the Dolphins out of the game.

SCC is now 1-12-1, 1-7-0 in the Northern Region. Whatcom is 4-5-1 and 3-4-1 in the region and now leads the division. SCC plays Edmonds Community College on Wednesday at Edmonds.

• Amadou Senghore Named SCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
·         The freshman walk-on from Nigeria, scored two goals in the 4-2 victory over Skagit Valley on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon, WA. Senghore was playing in his first game after joining the team the week before. Amadou sparked the win that broke SCC's 12 game winless streak going back to the semifinals of the NWAACC Championship last season.

SCC is 1-11-1 on the year, 1-6-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC faces Whatcom Community College on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field at 2:15 PM

Everett CC Ends SCC's Men's Soccer Northern Region Win Streak
·          The SCC Men’s Soccer Team's win streak against NWAACC Northern Region opponents is over at 8 games. SCC last lost to a NWAACC Northern Region Soccer Team on October 6th of last year, 3-2 to Edmonds CC. ECC beat SCC 2-0 on Saturday in Everett. The Dolphins playing without starting goalkeeper Bryan Wright whose 6"4" frame would have came in handy on one of the two Titan goals, dominated the second half, taking at one point, 5 corner kicks in a row but not finding the net.

SCC falls to 1-11-1 on the season and 1-5-0 in the region. Everett is now 1-7-1 and 1-5-1. SCC plays next Saturday at home against Whatcom Community College at 2:15 PM.

SCC Men's Soccer Team Wins First Game of Season

The winless streak is done, as the SCC Men's Soccer team defeated Skagit Valley College on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon, WA 4-2. Freshman Amadou Senghore made his debut to the squad by scoring two goals, the forward orginally from Nigeria joined the team last week. SCC also had goals from Jake Lagucik and Tom Hering.

The Dolpins are  now 1-10-1 on the season and 1-5-0 in the region, but moved into 3rd place in the region with the win and can move into second with a win over Everett CC on Saturday. Everett is 1-4-1 in the region, with 4 points, while Shoreline is 1-5-0 with 3 points. Edmonds leads the region with 2-3-1 record and 7 points.

wright.jpgThe 6'4" goalkeeper from Ballard High School played well in two losses for SCC last week.

SCC plays at Skagit Valley College on Wednesday and travels to Everett CC on Saturday in two big Northern Region battles. SCC is 0-10-1 on the season, but begins region play today only 1 point out of third place and 3 points out of first after the Northern and Western NWAACC Region Crossover games have been completed.
* SCC Men’s Soccer Goes To 0-10-1 But There Is "Hope"

The SCC Men's Soccer team lost to Bellevue College on Saturday at BC 3-0. The Bulldogs scored 2 first half goals and then sealed the game with a third goal in the second half.

 

SCC is now 0-10-1 on the year, 0-5-0 in the division but only 1 point out of third place in the NWAACC Northern Region and 4 points out of first as Northern Region play begins this week.  Only Edmonds CC and Everett CC have a victory against the Western Region in mandatory menssoccer.jpgNWAACC crossover games, while SCC, Whatcom and Skagit Valley are winless against the West. Each Northern Region team now plays the other home and away in the final eight games of the season.

 

SCC was 0-7-1 entering region play last season but then tied the first region game and then won 8 in a row to win the region and defeat Bellevue in the NWAACC play-offs and make it to the NWAACC Final Four.

 

SCC plays at Skagit Valley College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.in Mt. Vernon, WA.
