Skyler Fraiser Named "SCC Baseball Player of the Week"
DSC_8832.JPGShoreline Community College named sophomore Skyler Fraiser as the SCC Baseball Player of the Week for March 18-24.

Fraiser, a sophomore outfielder from Union High School in Vancouver, WA, was 6-14 at the plate, scored 3 runs, had 4 RBIs with a double and triple in his 6 hits and was hit by two pitches.

SCC went 2-2 on the week, splitting 2 games with Yakima Valley Community College (6-4, 0-4) and Centralia College (7-6, 0-3). SCC is now 10-5-1 on the season.
SCC Baseball Splits Two Games With Centralia College
V6 Baseball.jpgThe SCC Baseball Team split two games with Centralia College on Sunday at Meridian Field in Shoreline, WA.

In Game 1, the Dolphins erased a 6-1 deficient in the 8th inning with 5 runs and then won the game in the bottom with a single run for the 7-6 win. 

In Game 2, SCC was no hit over the 9 innings by Centralia pitching.

SCC is now 10-5-1 on the season and plays Western Washington Club Team on Tuesday, April 2 before opening NWAACC Northern Region play on Saturday, April 6, at Everett Community College. SCC then hosts Everett CC at Meridian Park on Sunday April 7 at 3:00pm. Everett is ranked #1 in the NWAACC and #3 of Pacific Coast colleges.
SCC Baseball Splits With Yakima Valley CC
The Dolphin Baseball Team earned a split on Saturday with #7 ranked team in the NWAACC, Yakima Valley Community College, winning the first game 6-4 while dropping the nightcap, 0-4.

300_0056.JPGIn Game 1, SCC ace Jason Shaw struggled, but pitched his way out of trouble to earn the win, giving up 11 hits and 4 runs over 8 1/3 innings of work, taking his record to 4-0 on the season. Aaron Rose picked up the save for SCC. Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui and Skyler Fraiser led the SCC offense as Frasier went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBIs and Ahsing-Kanhanui went 2-4 with a double and 3 RBIs as well.

In Game 2, Layton Bush pitched well, giving up 3 hits and no earned runs in 7 innings, but the SCC defense had 9 errors in the game and scored 4 unearned runs as Yakima only managed 3 hits in the game, but SCC was held to 6 hits themselves. Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui had another double and Mitchell Hoveke had double as well in the game.

SCC is now 9-4-1 on the season and play Centralia College today at 3:00pm at Meridian Park in Shoreline, WA.
SCC Names Danny Cavanaugh and Leonel Delmar As "Co-Baseball Player of the Week"
DSC_8825.JPGShoreline Community College on Tuesday named sophomores Danny Cavanaugh and Leonel Delmar as Co-Baseball Players of the Week for March 11-17.

Right Fielder Danny Cavanaugh had 3 hits in 7 at bats for the Dolphins, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs with 2 steals. Catcher Delmar went 5 for 8 with 4 RBIs and a double.

SCC defeated Treasure Valley CC 8-1 and tied Chemeketa CC 8-8 in a game called DSC_8826.JPG because of darkness after 9 innings.

SCC travels to Yakima Valley CC on Saturday and returns home to Meridian Park on Sunday to play Centralia College at 3:00pm. SCC is 8-3-1 on the season.
SCC Baseball Defeats Treasure Valley and Ties Chemeketa
The SCC Baseball team won one game and tied another on Sunday at Western Oregon University Baseball Field.

In game one, SCC was dominate as it defeated Treasure Valley Community College 8-1. SCC pounded out 12 hits with Leonel Delmar going 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs and a double. Layton Bush got win on the mound with 7.1 innings of work, giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits and striking out 4 with one walk. Jason Shaw came in to finish the game, allowing 2 hits with 3 strikeouts.

SCC then tied Chemeketa CC, as darkness stopped the game after 9 innings. SCC was up 8-5 after 5 innings, but allowed CCC to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie it. SCC scored 2 runs in the top of the 10th, but the umpires stopped the game due to darkness and the score reverted back to the 9th inning and a tie. Danny Cavanaugh had a big game with the bat, going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs.

SCC is now 8-3-1 on the season and plays at Yakima Valley CC on Saturday and returns home to Meridian Park on Sunday to face Centralia in a doubleheader starting at 3:00pm.

Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui and Luke Merkel Named SCC Co-Baseball Players of the Week
Shoreline Community College announced on Tuesday that sophomore Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui and freshman Luke Merkel have been named SCC Co-Baseball Players of the Week for March 4-10, 2013.

Ahsing-Kanhanu was 9 for 22 batting with a .409 average for the week, with 3 doubles and 6 RBIs while Merkel was 7 for 21 for a .333 average, scored 6 runs with 4 RBIs and had a double, triple and homerun on the week plus 1 steal.

SCC went 4-2 on the week, splitting a doubleheader with Tacoma CC and taking 3 of 4 games from Grays Harbor CC over the weekend.

SCC travels to Western Washington Club team on Saturday in Bellingham, WA and the Salem, WA on Sunday to face Chemeketa and Treasure Valley CCs.

SCC Baseball Goes 3-1 Against Grays Harbor Over Weekend
The Shoreline Community College Baseball team enjoyed a solid weekend of performance on Saturday and Sunday, as the Dolphins went 3-1 against Grays Harbor Community College.

On Saturday, SCC traveled to Lacy, WA to face the Chokers and split a double header with GHCC. SCC won a 9-8 but dropped a 3-2 game to home standing Chokers. In the 9-8 win, SCC went out to a 9-5 lead after 6 innings, but had to hold off a GHCC rally in the ninth to win by one. Henry McAree picked up the win for SCC while Aaron Rose came in for the save. Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui had three hits for SCC, including a double, and Luke Merkel homered. In game two, SCC was held to 6 hits, Danny Cavanaugh with 3 and Joshua Fitch two, as the Chokers scored in the bottom of the 9th for the victory.

300_9904.JPGOn Sunday at Meridian Park In Shoreline, SCC was down 2-1 in the 8th inning, but rallied for 6 runs in the bottom of the inning to win 7-2. Luke Merkel had two hits, including a triple and scored 2 runs, and Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui had a double. SCC pitcher Nick VAn Der Ven after giving up two runs in the first inning, threw 8 shutout innings for the win.

In game two, SCC broke open a tight game with 3 runs in the 7th and 7 runs in 8th to win 11-1. Luke Merkel, Kainoai Ahsing-Kanhanui and Luis Delmar had 2 hits each and Jason Shaw picked up his 3rd win of the season, allowing 3 hits in 8 innings of work.

SCC is now 7-3 on the season, already bettering their 6 win total for the 2012 season. SCC will burn up I-5 next weekend, playing the Western Washington Club Team in Bellingham on Saturday and then facing Chemeketa and Treasure Valley CCs in Salem, OR on Sunday.
Layton Bush Named "SCC Baseball Player of the Week"
Shoreline Community College named sophomore Layton Bush the "Baseball Player of the Week" for February 25 - March 3.

D30_4276_sc.jpgBush, a pitcher from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, WA pitched a complete 9 inning game against Blue Mountain Community College on March 3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and just 1 walk. Layton pitched a no-hitter for the first 5 innings of the game as SCC won 8-2.

SCC Baseball is 4-2 on the season currently and travels to Grays Harbor CC tomorrow play at Noon (games actually in Lacy, WA). SCC plays at home on Sunday against Grays Harbor again at Meridian Park at 3:00pm. 
SCC Baseball Splits With Tacoma CC In Tacoma
The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team split a doubleheader with Tacoma Community College on Wednesday in Tacoma, WA.

V6 Baseball.jpgThe Dolphins won the opening game 4-2 but dropped the nightcap 8-2. In the opener, Jason Shaw picked up his second win of the season with a 7 inning complete game, spreading out 10 TCC hits. 

The SCC Team will play a four game series with Grays Harbor CC over the weekend, traveling to GHCC on Saturday and then opening their home schedule against Grays Harbor on Sunday at Meridian Park in Shoreline, WA.
SCC Baseball Wins Three of Four Games On Opening Weekend
The SCC Baseball Team won 3 of 4 games to open the season on March 2-3, 2013.

D30_4276_sc.jpgSCC split with Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA on March 2, with SCC winning 9-4 behind the pitching of Jason Shaw, who threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs and the bat of Mitchell Hoveke who had 2 hits, 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs. SCC lost to CBC in the 2nd game, 13-2.

SCC then swept Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, OR, winning 10-5, 8-2 as Layton Bush tossed a complete game 4 hitter in the 8-2 win and BMCC committed 7 errors in their 10-5 loss to the Dolphins.
