Student Electronic Mail System Terms
This electronic mail system (e-mail) is for use only by students of Shoreline Community
College who have paid the Universal Technology Fee. Accounts and all associated data will
be irreversibly purged after one hundred consecutive days of non-enrolled status. Students
who reenroll after an account has been purged will need to re-apply for an account. E-mail
accounts are provided to an individual and are not to be shared or transferred. E-mail
accounts are to be used exclusively to promote the furtherance of education and are not to
be used for commercial purposes, or to harass others in anyway. Unnecessarily large e-mail
messages and large volumes of e-mail are considered abusive. E-mail account holders will
be courteous and considerate of others at all times and are responsible for keeping their
accounts clean by periodically removing old messages and copies of sent messages. Although
Shoreline Community College will make a reasonable effort to backup the information stored
on this system for disaster recovery purposes, Shoreline Community College is not
responsible for restoring the contents of individual mail boxes nor is Shoreline Community
College responsible for damages due to the loss of data under any circumstances. Shoreline
Community College does not censor e-mail and is therefore not responsible for the content
of e-mail messages that you may receive. Failure to abide by these guidelines or the
participation in activities that could be viewed by a reasonable person as inappropriate
or abusive will result in the termination of your eligibility for an account on this
system. Furthermore, abuses of these terms could be viewed to be in violation of
Student Conduct & Discipline Policy (5030),
and be subject to disciplinary action contained therein.
