Start College with a fantastic schedule!
Get in Gear (GIG) classes allow first year and other students to fulfill key degree requirements with a 12 credit block schedule. The package includes a study skills course tailored directly to help you with your classes. Students find community and make strong friendships with a GIG schedule.
Program Information
GIG classes put two subjects and two great faculty together in one block class, with coordinated assignments.
- Enter either at the English 99 or 101 level. Students entering in 99 will have a chance to earn 101 credit!
- English and each of the paired courses fulfill degree requirements.
- College Study Skills class (2 credits) teaches study techniques tailored to directly help you with your block class.
- Math 007 is an optional addition for students who did not place into college level math, to help raise your Compass score.
- You will find community and make strong friendships as a GIG participant.
