Transcript Evaluation

Overview

Students wishing to register at Shoreline Community College and continue on to a 4 year institution need to fill out the Transfer Degree Request for Transcript Evaluation form and turn it in to Enrollment Services as soon as possible.

Evaluations are done on a first come first served basis, and it is important to note that it takes an average to 2 - 3 weeks to process an evaluation once it has been received.

There are a couple of areas on the form that are easily overlooked and can serve as  stumbling blocks to successfully completing the process.

One of these items is located in the middle of the page and involves the inclusion of any transcript information accompanying the completed form. All transcript information to be included with this form must be on file with us in order to be completed.

This is for purposes of verification of academic achievement. Transcript information that is included with the form but is not on record with SCC will not be considered valid, and as such can not be processed.

The other item most overlooked is the request of copies forwarded box for financial aid assistance, and for copies to be forwarded to the Veterans Affairs Office of the college or university you plan to attend.  If you need copies sent to either office, make sure you remember to check the appropriate box located toward the bottom of the form to ensure that copies are sent.

It is also important to note that you don’t need to wait for the transcript evaluation process to be completed before registering for class. But top to bottom, the evaluation is the longer of the two, and as such, the sooner you get it out of the way, the better.

Another easily missed item is the degree options section. You may only choose one of the four options on each request. If you want to select more than that, you’ll need to speak to an advisor.

Finally, Transcript Evaluation serves as a planning guide to you. It is a necessary starting place for some students depending on their long term plans. It is not intended to replace an advisor.

Included with this page are links to the most common forms you may need.

You may download them and fill them out as needed.

We look forward to helping you along your path to academic success. We are here for you!

Very best regards -
