Revision Log for Optional End-of-Quarter Revision
Assignment Description: If you do choose to revise the initial version of your major paper, you must submit a revision log: a listing of the major kinds of changes made to their paper. This log does not have to catalog every change, as some types of changes, such as transitioning or detailing problems, can be synthesized, but it should include at least five substantial kinds of changes made to the paper, with examples. Indicate what the original problem was, and what you did to improve the writing.
Purpose: This assignment helps you develop skills in thinking about your own writing and revision, and it helps you identify major areas of focus in your own writing improvement.
Criteria: The revision log may be written as a listing/log -- it does not have to include complete sentences but it should be clear enough to show the areas of focus in the revision. It must include at least five kind of changes made with one clear example from your paper for each kind of change. Click here from successful revision logs from previous students.
Format / How to Submit: Place your revision log in a course message, and attach your revised paper to that message. Do not send the revision as an attachment. The revised paper cannot be accepted without the revision log.
