SCC’s men’s basketball team finished
out their season with a Feb 23
loss to Whatcom Community College
(WCC) and a sixth place finish in
the Northwest Athletic Association
of Community Colleges (NWAACC)
North Division.
SCC fell behind early in the 101-77
loss to WCC, trailing by a 58-28 count
at halftime. Parys Fox led the Dolphins
with 28 points on 12/18 shooting and
JaRon Brown added 13 points in the
sophomore duo’s final game for SCC.
The team was officially eliminated
from playoff contention on
Feb 18 when Bellevue Community
College (BCC) defeated Skagit Valley
Community College 94-67. Bellevue’s
victory put Shoreline three games behind
BCC for the fourth and final playoff
spot in the NWAACC North division
with, at the time, only two games
remaining on the schedule. Prior to
BCC’s win, Shoreline’s playoff hopes
were resting on BCC losing its final
three division games and SCC winning
its remaining three contests.
SCC finishes the 2007-08 season
sixth in the NWAACC North division
with a 15-13 overall record and a 7-9
division record – five games removed
from fourth place in the division and
a playoff berth. SCC also missed the
playoffs in the 2006-07 campaign,
going 8-8 in the division and 13-14
overall.
