“Before you ask me anything I must say this: The American government under
George W. Bush has amassed so much central authority that the power-grab may undermine America’s commitment to democracy,”
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said in an interview I held with her in Washington, DC last Saturday.
“In any country, if you do not have countervailing
institutions, the power of any one president is problematic for democratic development,”
she said.
“Has our country adequately defended itself
from Tyranny on the inside?” I asked.
“No. There is too much concentration of power in the White House. Everybody should doubt the full independence of the judicial system. We should also be questioning
the independence of the electronic media and the strength of the U.S. Government,”
she replied, taking a long pull from a silver flask.
“The time has come for rights activists to stand up and show politicians how to rebuild the institutions of democracy,” she said. “We’ve got to combat arbitrary State power from the White House.
“I hope I am right in thinking that the U.S. is concerned about the centralization of power and democratic backsliding ahead of America’s presidential election in 2008. Bush will step down next year from his presidency. How the citizens react now and how this election is carried out will have an effect on whether America makes the next step toward Jeffersonian democracy,” Rice said. “The past two presidential elections
were rigged. Efforts are being made to ensure a secure system will be put into place.”
“What has Bush and his Cabinet’s response
been to proposals regarding their cooperation in democratic restoration?”
“Chilly,” she responded, taking another swig. “They are steps that Bush vehemently opposes, due to the fact that he is a dictator and deserves to be impeached immediately, along with Vice President Dick Cheney, and the rest of the Republican monsters who’ve taken over the White House.”

“Yes,” she said with a laugh. “Change needs to take place now. Radical activists
need to promote universal values: the Rights of Individuals to Liberty and Freedom,
the Right to Worship as You Please, the Right to Assembly, and the Right to Deny the Arbitrary Power of the State.”
“How was your meeting with the Media leaders?” I asked with a smirk.
“Don’t get me started,” she said, waving her hand. “The Media has complete control over most American minds and needs to be brought down. I can’t believe people buy into that crap. The News is scripted; three-quarters of it isn’t even real. Did you know that the rate at which they flash images across the screen has everyone addicted to an epilepsy-induced pacifism that keeps them quiet and content?”
“Bread and Circuses, just like the Romans?”
I asked.
“Exactly. Keep the people fat and happy and the Government can do whatever it pleases.”
“What must be done if America is to become
a democratic country that can Fully Protect the Rights of its People?”
“Americans are going to have to stand up and get off their lazy asses, and shed blood. Activists have to assist the emergence of that America.” She took a manly gulp and wiped her mouth.

“If Bush continues to centralize power in the White House, keeps the legislature non-compliant, maintains political pressure on the judiciary, continues his intolerance of ethnic minorities, and encourages corruption
and selective law enforcement, while letting the Media run amok, America will surely destroy itself from the inside out. The New World Order is a group of lunatics who will deprive citizens of their rights in the coming years. They need to be stopped. Now.”
I helped her to her feet, we shook hands and parted. I hope you’re right Condi, I hope you’re right. The time has come for a change. Who’s with me?
