If you’re planning on transferring to a four year University in Washington state, be prepared to pay big bucks. The cost to attend college continues to rise faster than inflation. If you think that tuition at SCC or any other community college is expensive, wait till you transfer to a four year University. You’re certainly going to pay at least twice as much.

‘Control Room’ arrives at SCC

On Wed, March 1, SCC had the pleasure of hearing guest speaker, Jehane Noujaim, film producer/ director discuss her latest and controversial documentary film titled Control Room. The presentation, called “Different Channels, Different Truths,” was held in the gymnasium where Noujaim spoke to SCC students, faculty and other visitors.

All students may soon have to pay for parking

According to Elliot Newlin, the Student Body President, a change may be underway regarding student parking. The plan is to implement a fee to each student registering for classes based on the amount of credits a student is registering for.

Stats show rise in crime on campus

It’s 7:25 am on January 31, 2006. A man dressed in black tights, pink underwear, and a pink jacket is loitering around the 2300 building, according to the security department’s crime log. This, and other reported suspicious circumstances have contributed to the crime statistics going up overall on Shoreline Community College’s Campus since 1999.

Buddhist club: open to everyone

If there ever was a group that could possibly brighten up a person's day with random acts of kindness, it could be The Buddhists for World Peace Club. The club recent held an open discussion about buddhism and to correct misconceptions about buddhism.

Community members gather to support DEC

The Shoreline Community College organization Delta Epsilon Chi earned $3,077 at its auction earlier this month. The club puts on an auction every year in order to raise money to fund the club’s trip to the annual International DEC Conference. The conference this year will be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas from April 21-26.

Tech fee request info

The Technology Review Committee is accepting proposals to request funds for technology resoureces for general student use from now until March 24.
