Clarification for the Pop Culture Genius
Dear Editor,
I
wish to clarify the assertions made in "Thicker than Water". The harassment
and abuse Robbie suffered was not justified. Neither was the abuse of
Michelle and Christine suffered at the hands of their father. Why did no one
stop the abuse? Why did no one befriend Michelle? Michelle fell in love with
her sister Christine [because] Christine was the only one who loved her
back. This would have been less likely if her father had treated her with
love instead of contempt. Something could have been salvaged if only someone
knew of and reported the abuse.
A note of clarification to the Pop Culture
Genius. There is no fossil or archaeological record in existence which
supports the theory of Evolution. At least not when understood correctly.
Also, you may wish to mention that Darwin's Origin of Species ranks men
superior to women and men with white skin above those with darker skin. And
even with all the words used, Darwin can only answer to a certain extent how
man "supposedly" came to be. Are you aware that Charles Darwin lived during
the Victorian Era? It was during this Era that people were struggling with
the idea of a God who was sovereign permitting evil and disorder to exist.
The fact is that evil is outside of God's moral will. He does not wish for
there to be evil. However he gave us free will so that we could choose Him
or the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. The Bible maintains that Adam
and Eve, the ancestors of all humanity, chose the tree. Following that
decision all were banned from the garden. Before that Lucifer decided that
he wanted to be God. When he lost the battle for God's throne he settled for
corrupting humanity. Because God created all the Angels and other entities
in this universe they are under his sovereign will. That means that if Satan
(as he is called now) does anything, it must be allowed by God. The
suffering of humanity is the result of choice on the part of Satan and the
first two humans. So while God does not condone wrong, he permits it so that
he may be recognized as the only option for life.
