A word about war in Iraq

To call me “pro-war” is incorrect. I’d rather not have our soldiers fight, kill or die. But
when it comes down to it, I’d rather them do
these things so that in the wake of all this misery there will be a greater measure of
liberty and security in Iraq to replace the
killing, torture, oppression and threat of terrorism that was there before the war.

Mission Accomplished

“Mission Accomplished” was the proclamation of the banner on the U.S.S.
Abraham Lincoln in late April, 2003 – two and a half
years ago – as President Bush commended the United States’ troops for a
“job well done.”
What job they had done isn’t quite clear, except for the fact that they’d
managed to overthrow the capital. Saddam Hussein was
still undiscovered, and even when he crawled out of his hole (literally)
in December not much seemed to change.

What do you think campus security does all day
I am disappointed that some of our students apparently don’t read the security
log in the Ebbtide. If they did, they would realize
that in between “chewing bubble gum and talking about Barbies” we are kept
