Multicultural/Diversity Education Center and Mi Grupo celebrate Hispanic Heritage
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Multicultural/Diversity Education Center and Mi Grupo (Shoreline's Latino Student Club) are co-sponsoring "La Causa," a theater presentation, on Oct. 15 in Room 958, The Canteen, in the PUB. It will play three times: 9:30-10:20 a.m., 10:30-11:20 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. -12:20 p.m.
"La Causa" is a brand new production of the Living Voices Theater Company, a group that "uses a combination of theater, video and live interaction to create a high impact experience allowing audiences to discover history's relevance to their lives." Last spring's presentation at Shoreline, "Within the Silence," was very well received by students and staff alike, said Esther Pineiro-Hall, of the Multicultural/Diversity Education Center.
"La Causa" is the story of Marta Hernandez and her life-changing involvement in the Farm Workers Movement, led by Cesar Chavez.
