Predictions

After the Vancouver Canucks feast on some Buffalo chicken wings, they’re going to wash it down by drinking Molson Ice from the Stanley Cup ... bitches.
—Tom Helm

The playoff race will be a tight one this year. Expect no team to just run away with it. No matter what the final stats say, the implementation of the extra point for an overtime loss has majorly messed things up. Dallas will have to rip a victory out of Vancouver, but if they do, expect them to make it all the way to the finals and eventually lose to Buffalo in six.

The chase for Lord Stanley’s Cup always comes down to goaltending. In the West, the smart picks are Minnesota and Vancouver because of their phenomenal net-minders. I believe the Canucks will reach the final by beating the cinderella Wild in the semis. In the East, the New Jersey Devils superstar goalie Martin Brodeur will carry his team through the first two rounds. Unfortunately, fatigue, and a lack of adequate defensemen will doom the Devils against the Buffalo Sabres in the conference final. As for the final, the Sabres will beat the Canucks in six.
