Directions to Log
Into Blackboard and
Access Your Online Classroom
- A Blackboard
account already has been created for you for the current
quarter. If you are a returning Blackboard student, use your
Blackboard account information from last quarter.
It may be useful to print out these instructions before you log
on the first time.
- To access your classroom(s),
navigate to the Blackboard server at:
http://shoreline.blackboard.com
and click on the User Login
button on the left-hand side.

NEW
STUDENTS
To
Login:
Username = first letter of first name + the first 4 letters
of last name + last 4 numbers of SID
(i.e.
jbell1111,
jlee2222)
Password = last 5 numbers of SID
(SID is your nine digit number student identification number
that starts with 965)
RETURNING STUDENTS
To
Login:

Notes:
- If you do not know your SID number, it is on your printed class
schedule or call the Enrollment Services Helpline at 206-546-4523 to
get your SID over the phone.
- The last 5 digits of your SID password is a temporary
password. Please change it once you have logged into Blackboard (see
step # 4 below).
The
class(es) you have registered for will show on the “My SCC”
page under “My Courses" in Blackboard. Click on the name of your
class to enter the online classroom and get started.

Updating the Information in Your Blackboard Account:
Email address: If you have provided the college with an
email address when you registered, that email address has been added to your Blackboard
account. If you have not provided an email address, a “fake” address
of none@none.edu has been
placed in your Blackboard account. You will need to change this
fake address to a valid email account in order to receive
emails from within Blackboard. To change or update your email address, once you
are in Blackboard:
- On the “My SCC” Welcome page in Blackboard, click on Personal Information in the Tools menu
on the left-hand side.
- Click on "Change Email Address" to change your
email address. Please note that there is a slightly
different process to follow if you are employed at the college
in any capacity.
Password: To change your password, once
you are in Blackboard:
- On the “My SCC” Welcome page in Blackboard, click on Personal Information in the
Tools menu on the left-hand side.
- Click on "Change Password" to change your password.
- The password you create is case sensitive. It
can be any length.
