Present Perfect

Use been to replace the be verb.

He is hungry.	He has been hungry since noon.
They were teachers.	They have been teachers for a long time.

 

Adjectives

He ________________ (happy).

He has been happy all his life.

 

They ______________ (angry).

They have been angry since they got the news.

 

Nouns

She _______________ (student).

She has been a student for a year.

 

We _______________ (friends).

We have been friends for a long time.

 

Verbs - NO been

 

We ________________ (study).

Yes: We have studied for a long time.

No: We have been studied for a long time.

 

She ________________ (live).

Yes: She has lived there since 2005.

No: She has been lived there since 2005.

 

Change these sentences to present perfect:

For example:

She was my teacher.	She has been my teacher.
They study here.	They have studied here.

Write complete sentences. (Don't forget capital letters and punctuation.)

Write the present perfect form. For nouns and adjectives, use "been." For verbs, no "been."
