Present Perfect

Use been to replace the be verb.

He is hungry.

He has been hungry since noon.

They were teachers.

They have been teachers for a long time.

 

Adjectives

He ________________ (happy).

He has been happy all his life.

 

They ______________ (angry).

They have been angry since they got the news.

 

Nouns

She _______________ (student).

She has been a student for a year.

 

We _______________ (friends).

We have been friends for a long time.

 

Verbs - NO been

 

We ________________ (study).

Yes: We have studied for a long time.

No: We have been studied for a long time.

 

She ________________ (live).

Yes: She has lived there since 2005.

No: She has been lived there since 2005.

 

Change these sentences to present perfect:

For example:

She was my teacher.

She has been my teacher.

They study here.

They have studied here.

Write complete sentences. (Don't forget capital letters and punctuation.)
