 Our
students have gone on to pursue successful careers in
Seattle, New York, Los Angeles and many places in
between.
Students from around the country, from all over the
world, with all levels of experience, have come here to
pursue their interests in theatre and film and video. At
the Shoreline Community College Drama and Cinema
Department, we provide the focused education and
training you'll need to become part of the next
generation of visual artists.
But there's more to our program than just what you'll
learn while you're here. Our students have gone on to
pursue successful careers in Seattle, New York, Los
Angeles and many places in between. But wherever they
go, they stay in touch with us-- and each other. That's
why we can safely say that during your time here, you'll
discover and nurture contacts that will provide you with
a life-long network of collaborators and friends.
Along side SCC's Drama, Cinema, Digital Filmmaking,
and Communications departments Shoreline students have a
variety of other programs to enhance their training
opportunities in the Art/Visual
Communications Technology Department students can
explore photography, graphic design, web design,
animation, and video editing using Final Cut Pro (we use
Avid Xpress Proi Video Editing Software which is the
film/TV production standard). In the Music Music/Tech
Department they can study voice and diction, perform in
Operas and the Musicals, and study audio engineering and
sound design. We urge students to take advantage of
those resources as well.
Local reviewers have called the SCC productions
comparable to professional theater--so that gives you an
idea that we believe that our students can create work
as powerful and passionate work as anyone in the
entertainment industry today. We know. It's a goal we've
seen realized over and over.
The theater and film productions are the keystone
training of the program.
