Essay I Peer Review 2

With this peer review the focus shifts away from physical detail to other types of information. This sort of abstract information includes such things as dates and times, explanations or reasons why something happened, background information to a story, facts about a person, place or event, and so on.

Read your partner’s paper through once. Then, go back and answer these questions:

  1. What abstract information does the paper leave out? Point out at least two specific spots where this type of information is not included.
    1. Where are you confused or unable to follow the story because you do not understand something or lack key information?
    2. Where is it okay to leave the missing information out because you already know it, or you can figure it out from the context (the other information that is given)?
    3. Note: I’m not asking you to tell the author to cut something that’s in there. I’m asking you to point out a spot where they did NOT tell you something, and you feel it’s fine for them not to tell you.
  2. Describe at least two places in the story where you feel abstract information could be added to improve it, even if you were not confused anywhere. State what information you would add.

Type your answers. Put your name, labeled “Reviewer,” and your partner’s name, labeled “Author,” on your work.
