People working in these fields:
Why is CAST important?
CAST in the news
Child Advocacy Studies Training (CAST) is a three-class, 15-credit certificate program for people interested in or already working in fields that deal with children. You will learn how to effectively contrib
ute to the work of different child protection agencies as they advocate on behalf of child victims and survivors of child abuse.
You will be educated, trained and equipped with the skills needed to identify child abuse and neglect. Most importantly, you will develop the confidence to know how, when, where and to whom to report abuse, and to protect abused children from further harm.
Get real-life experience and training
Internships and contacts with children’s agencies in the area will provide hands-on experience and an overall insight into all aspects of child protective agencies and the duties those agencies perform. This real-life experience and training will provide enhanced job skills when you enter the job market.
Get a leg up on your competition
In an increasingly competitive job market, the CAST certificate program will give students enhanced job skills for working with children which may provide an edge when looking for employment or looking to move up the ladder.
All three classes for the CAST certificate are taught online and are part of Shoreline Community College, accredited by the NWCCU.
