Math 107 Fall 2006

ANNOUNCEMENTS

We will not be having a final.  The last exam (over Math & Art) will be on Friday, December 8th.

 

There is an extra credit assignment, due the last day of class (Dec. 8).  This assignment is worth 1/2 exam grade.

 

Sheet of Notes on Exams: You may use one 8.5 x 11 sheet of handwritten notes for all exams.  You will also need your calculator.

 

My office is 5335 on the third floor of the Foss building.

 

Fairy Godfather Rule: Starting immediately, there will be a “Fairy Godfather Rule.”  You can turn one assignment in late this quarter.  This can be any assignment that you take home (not in-class things like tests).  All late assignments need to be in to me by the last day of class.  Make sure that the assignment itself is clear in the work you turn in.

 

 

Here you will find the syllabus (& part B) for the class, along with an outline/calendar ( html) of topics that we are expected to cover.  You will need MS Word or some other word processor which reads .doc files to download the syllabus.

 

Feel free to email me at “cquarles at shoreline.edu” if you have any questions.  There were some interesting topics that you guys wanted to cover.  Unfortunately, we won’t be able to get to them all.  If we are touching on a topic similar to something you’re interested in, email me (a few days ahead of time) and I’ll work it into class.

Final Homework Assignment (Due Friday, Feb. 8th)

             11A: 1, 3, 4, 7-10, 12, 13, 17, 22

             11B: 5, 15, 17, 20

 

Homework (Due on Wednesday, November 29) - This homework is now complete.  There is also an optional extra credit project, for which you need to download a Word document and an Excel spreadsheet.

 

Homework (Due on Monday, November 13th)- This homework is now complete.  It consists of two parts: book work and a lottery project.

Homework (Due Monday, October 23rd)

             This comes in two parts: A book assignment and a Money Management Project that I borrowed from Shana Calaway.  Please do not do part 6 of the money management project.

 

Homework (Due Tuesday, Oct. 10):

             8A: 6-11, 14, 33 (staple or paste copies of the articles to your homework)

             8B: 25-28, 40-45, 57, 58
