Manufacturing Training Programs
The Center for Manufacturing Excellence functions as a single
point of entry for Manufacturing Employers to access vital
resources to help grow and sustain their participation in an
increasingly global marketplace. These resources include:
- One source for the State’s Community and Technical
Colleges’ Manufacturing workforce training opportunities
- An active recruiting resource for employees trained in
Manufacturing Core Competencies and in “niche” specialties
- Collaborative Industry-Education partnerships for
specialized training, lifelong learning, and skill enhancement
opportunities
- A market-responsive Community and Technical College system
that consistently adds productivity to Manufacturing
Employers’ businesses
Manufacturing Employers can enhance the success of the CME by
contributing marketing expertise, conducting onsite tours of
Manufacturing operations, establishing Internship programs for
currently enrolled Manufacturing program students, and offering
in-kind donations and financial support for cutting edge
training programs. Join the
Manufacturing Skill
Panel and network with the region’s most forward-thinking
Employers and Community-Based Organizations as we revitalize
Washington State’s Manufacturing industry.
Training and Educational Programs
Community and Technical Colleges, Vocational Educational
Institutes, and four-year Universities partner through the Center
for Manufacturing Excellence to offer future-focused,
complementary programs that address the Manufacturing
community’s needs. Each school’s curriculum offers a training
“niche” to deliver the most effective, most comprehensive system
of programs to train today’s and tomorrow’s workforce.

Training and Education programs.
Internships and Trained Employees
Internships and partnering projects ensure that students are
prepared to apply Manufacturing skills and to work in the
day-to-day business environment. Most Employers get even more
out of hosting Internship programs than they give. By investing
the time and attention to bring well-trained new employees on
board, Employers develop best practices that benefit all
employees.
Partnering CME schools help Manufacturing training program
students establish Internships by working with participating
Employers to fill specific industry-driven needs. Each school also offers a rich resource
for regional Employers to locate and hire
trained employees in the
process of completing their studies.
