EXPLORING SENIOR RESIDENCES--NEW

You hear the stories and it may have happened to someone you know--people caught off guard, suddenly having to face difficult decisions about senior residence facilities for themselves or loved ones. It doesn't have to be that way.  This class will give you specific information, worksheets and guidelines for assessing local residences from simple retirement to assisted living.  A King County Senior Services representative and the instructor will guide you through the process.  Students will be encouraged to visit at least one facility between sessions.  Don't wait for an emergency--learn how to do this now with careful guidance.

MEDITATION: AN ADVENTURE FOR LIFE

Meditation is truly a self-exploration adventure. As you discover and understand your inner landscape, you may realize that meditation is a vital skill in spontaneously finding greater health, balance, clarity, creativity and happiness in your life, relationships, and work. Experience the key elements of all meditation techniques, whatever their origin. If you are new to meditation, you may discover a variety of techniques to use in your daily life. If you already have experience meditating, enjoy learning some deeper perspectives and approaches that enhance your practice. Each session will provide some time for learning and practicing a technique and discussion. Reed Svadesh Johnson has over 20 years experience practicing and teaching Indian, Chinese, Tibetan, European and American meditation traditions and is the co-founder/director of the BodyMind Energetics Institute. FREEDOM FROM EMOTIONAL EATING

We overeat and keep ourselves heavy for remarkably good reasons! It's not about willpower at all. In this inspiring workshop, you'll start to uncover underlying reasons why you turn to food, how your extra weight has been serving you, and the subconscious limiting beliefs you've been operating under but did not realize. Once these truths are revealed, the inner turmoil diminishes. You will learn a refreshing new strategy of eating to ensure your body's support in losing fat without dieting. One additional private coaching session is included in this class. The instructor is a nutritionist and certified life coach.
