Brooke Zimmers received her B. A. in Speech Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her M.A. from the University of Washington.  She emphasized studying communication in instructional environments and with  adolescents.   Brooke has taught Speech Communication at a variety of community colleges since 1992.  She has also consulted with corporations like Boeing and has devoted over 10 years to working with homeless youth.  Currently her involvement with Shoreline Community College includes working with the student leadership teams and student activism. 

Brooke has traveled extensively, enjoys climbing mountains and backpacking, and prioritizes community.  She believes in an experiential approach to learning and she infuses her classroom with lively discussion and group activities.
