Shoreline Community College maintains an open enrollment policy for all students who are high school graduates, have earned a General Education Development (GED) certificate or are at least 18 years of age.  We also offer admissions to students who are at least 16 years old and eligible for enrollment into one of our high school completion programs. 

 

Shoreline offers a number of professional-technical programs.  Some of these programs will require a separate application.  More information is available by going directly to the Professional-Technical website for these programs.

Application Process

If you're applying for admissions for the first time, you can follow these easy steps to apply to Shoreline Community College. Most enrollment processes are available online for your convenience.

  • Apply Online: For those students who plan to take college credit classes and are NOT in high school. You will enter the online application module. You are required to submit an application for admission ONE TIME ONLY. After your application has been processed, a student identification number (SID) will be issued to you via e-mail which can be used to register for any quarter.   • Apply by Mail (or in person)  simply complete this application and select "Submit" to send it to us via email, or print the completed application and submit it by mail to: Shoreline Community College Admissions Office - 16101 Greenwood Avenue N. - Shoreline, WA 98133

  • Apply for Financial Aid Financial assistance is available from many sources.  Review your Financial Aid options by checking the Financial Aid website.  You may obtain additional information by contacting SCC Financial Aid Office at (206) 546-4762.
  • Take the COMPASS or ASSET Test Testing is required for all students planning to enroll in math, English, or courses designated (writing).  If you have taken math and English courses at another College/University, you may not need to take the COMPASS or ASSET test.  Make sure you talk with an academic advisor before taking the test and/or registering for classes.  Click for testing information or call (206) 546-4608. 
  • Submit your Transcripts If you have attended high school within the last five years, obtain a final high school transcript to bring to your advising and registration appointment.  If you previously attended college, arrange to have official college transcripts sent to our Admissions Office if you wish to transfer credit from other colleges, meet course prerequisites, or if you plan to receive veterans benefits or federal financial aid.
  • New Student Orientation & Registration Session.  Orientation and Registration sessions are offered for all new incoming students.  Once you receive for your Student Identification Number (SIN) you will be able to sign up for an Orientation and Registration appointment.  If you have never attended College, have less than 15 college credits or would like assistance with your educational plan and course selections, please make an Orientation & Registration appointment.

Non-Credit Classes and Programs Continuing Education / Continuing Education and Professional Upgrade Training courses can be taken at any time by students. A formal application to the College is not necessary. You may proceed immediately to the Continuing Education / Continuing Education web site.
