Final Softball Players of The Week For 2012
The Shoreline Community College Athletic Department announced the final Softball Players of the Week for 2012:
For the week of May 7 to May 13, Sophie Overlock-Pauley was named the Player of the Week. Overlock-Pauley went 10 for 20 for a .500 batting average, with 7 runs scored, 2 RBIs, 2 doubles and one homerun. She led SCC to a 4-4 record for the week.
For the week of May 14 to May 20, Co-Players of the Week were named as Sophie Overstock-Pauley and Vallen Brewer share the final week awards. At the NWAACC Softball Championship, Overstock-Pauly went 1-3 against Walla Walla CC with a triple and 2 RBIs while Brewer when 2-2 with a run scored.
SCC finished the year 19-20-2 and went 0-2 at the NWAACC Championship.

SCC Softball Loses Two Games in NWAACC Softball Championship:
A tough day on Friday, May 18th, for the Lady Dolphin Softball Team. SCC was no-hit in their opening game against Clackamas Community College, losing 8-0 in six innings. Clackamas would go on to win the NWAACC Softball Championship.
In Game 2, SCC was down 2-0 against Walla Walla CC but came back to tie it up 2-2, but then WWCC scored 9 runs in two innings to finish off the Dolphins and end the 2012 season for SCC.
SCC finished the season 19-20-2 overall, 14-10 in the NWAACC Northern Region and in 4th place. But it was the 5th straight time the SCC squad had qualified for the NWAACC Championship and SCC had either won the region or finished second during past 3 seasons.

SCC Softball #12 Seed At NWAACC Softball Tournament
SCC Softball #12 Seed At NWAACC Softball Tournament:
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team is seeded 12th of 16 teams at the NWAACC Softball Championship that starts on Friday at Delta Park in Portland, OR.
SCC will face Clackamas Community College of Oregon in the opening round at 11:30 AM on Friday.
Wenatchee Valley is the top seed in the tournament and NWAACC Northern Region rival Bellevue College is the #2 Seed.
Clackamas finished 2nd in the Southern Region with a 30-10 record. SCC is 19-18-2 on the season and finished 4th in the Northern Region.

SCC Softball Splits Four Games Over Weekend, Finishes 4th In Region:
The Shoreline Community College Women's Softball Team beat Skagit Valley College on Friday, 8-0, 6-0 to clinch 4th place in the NWAACC Northern Region and qualify for the NWAACC Softball Softball Championship for the 5th consecutive year.
On Saturday, SCC dropped two games to Everett CC, 6-5 and 9-1 to finish the regular season.
In the Skagit Valley games, Alia Kelly ran her pitching record to 8-6 for the season with a 4 hit shutout of the Cardinals and she hit her 8th homerun of the season. Jarryn Vannatta had two hits and Chelsea Lindroth doubled for SCC.
In Game 2, Kelsie Mason shut out SVC on 3 hits and ran her record to 5-2 for the year. Alia Kelly hit a double and Sophie Overlock-Pauley had two hits for the SCC. Skagit Valley had 5 errors to help SCC's cause.
SCC finished the season 19-18-2 overall and 14-10 in the region. This is the first time in 4 seasons SCC has not won or finished second in the region. SCC will travel to Portland, OR on Thursday to compete in the NWAACC Softball Championship starting Friday.
Match-ups will be announced later in the week, as the softball seeding for the tournament will now be determined by a power ranking for the first time and not how teams finished in the actual region.

SCC Softball Splits Doubleheader With Douglas College:
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team split with Douglas College on Wednesday at Softball City in Vancouver, BC.
SCC dropped the opening game 10-1 as the Dolphins were no hit by Douglas.
The Shoreline squad came back in the second game to win 7-4 as Sophie Overstock-Pauley went 4-5, Kelsie Mason 2-3 and Chelsea Lindroth 2-4 to lead the SCC offense. Kelsie Mason picked up the win on the mound for Shoreline.

SCC Names Vallen Brewer Softball Player of the Week:
SCC Lady Dolphin catcher, Vallen Brewer was named SCC Softball Player of the Week. Brewer, a freshman from Lake Stevens High School, was 6 for 13 for the week and included 1 run scored, 5 RBIs with a double and a homerun.
SCC split a doubleheader with Douglas College on Wednesday and was swept by Bellevue College at the UW Lady Husky Field on Sunday. In the lone victory of the week for SCC, Brewer went 2-4, with the double and homerun and 5 RBIs. Brewer also had 3 singles against Bellevue.
SCC is now 16-15-2 overall and 11-7 in the region. SCC plays at Douglas College today in Vancouver, BC in a big match-up, as Douglas trails SCC by one game in the NWAACC Northern Region standings for 3rd place in the region. The top four teams in the region make the NWAACC Championship.

SCC Softball Splits With Olympic College:
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team on Monday split a doubleheader with Olympic College, winning the first game 5-4 and then dropping the night-cap, 4-1.
In Game 1, SCC powered into a 5-0 lead by hitting three homeruns with Sophia Overlock-Pauley, Vallen Brewer and Devann Burney hitting four baggers for SCC.
Shoreline went into the top of the 7th inning looking strong, but Olympic rallied, cutting the lead from 5-0 to 5-4 with the tying run on 3rd base with 2 outs. But Kelsie Mason, in relief of starter and winner Alia Kelly (7-4) got the final out and SCC held on the for the win.
In Game 2, SCC got the lead in the 1st inning, 1-0, but OC tied it up in the top of the 4th and took the lead in the 6th with 2 runs and got another insurance run in the top of the 7th.
SCC was lead by Vallen Brewer with 2 hits in the second game, Kelsie Mason took her first loss of the season as the starting pitcher (3-1).
SCC is now 16-15-2 on the season and 11-7 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Olympic goes to 20-8 overall and 14-6 in the region.
SCC plays at Douglas College on Wednesday in a rain make-up. Douglas is only a game behind SCC in the standings for 3rd place, with a 9-7 record in the region, and 14-16 overall.

SCC Softball Drops Two Games To Region Leading Bellevue College:
The Lady Dolphins played tough, but could not hang with the Bellevue College Bulldogs on Sunday at the University of Washington Softball Field losing 7-0, and 8-1.
SCC loaded the bases twice in each game, but only scored 1 run out of the four jams for BC.
SCC is now 15-14-2 overall, and 10-6 in the region, the #5 ranked Bulldogs are 40-3 overall and 24-0 in the region.
The Lady Dolphins face Olympic College tomorrow at Shoreview Park at 1:00 PM in a region doubleheader, as SCC, Olympic and Douglas battle it out for the 2nd - 4th place positions in the region and seeding for the NWAACC Softball Championship Tournament.

SCC Softball Splits With Douglas College:
The Lady Dolphin Softball Team split with Douglas College from Vancouver, BC on Tuesday in a NWAACC Northern region doubleheader at Shoreview Park.
In Game 1, SCC met up with a dominant pitcher from Douglas and by the end, had only 1 hit, 16 strikeouts and no runs, as DC won the game 6-0. Alia Kelly took the loss for the Dolphins as the Royals scored 2 runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings for the win. Vallen Brewer had the only hit for SCC.
In Game 2, SCC dominated on offense, as Vallen Brewer had 5 RBIs with a double and homerun to lead SCC to the 9-3 win. SCC led 4-1 after three innings and blew the game open with a 5 run 4th inning. Chelsea Lindroth collected 3 hits and Alia Kelly and Kelsie Mason added 2 hits each.
Mason started the game on the mound and got the win, but Sophia Overlock-Pauley came in the game in the 4th and shut the Royals down the rest of the way with only 1 hit.
SCC is now 15-12-2 on the season and 10-4 in NWAACC Northern Region. Douglas moved to 12-16 overall and 7-7 in the region.
SCC has big games this weekend, as the Lady Dolphins face Olympic College on Friday at 1:00 PM at Shoreview Park. OC moved into 2nd place in the region based on percentage points after the SCC split. Olympic is 19-7 overall and 13-5 in the region. The Rangers have won 10 games in a row.
SCC then faces league leading Bellevue College on Sunday, at the University of Washington Softball Field. BC is 32-3 on the year and 16-0 in the Northern Region. Bellevue is ranked #5 in the NWAACC.

Nicole Reyling Named SCC Softball Player of the Week
Nicole Reyling Named SCC Softball Player of the Week:
Freshman Nicole Reyling was named the SCC Softball Player of the Week after her performance against Edmonds Community College on Friday.
Reyling went 6 for 7 batting, with 6 runs, 7 RBIs and had 2 doubles and 2 homeruns in the doubleheader.
SCC won the games 23-1 and 14-3.
SCC Softball is now 14-11-2 on the season, 9-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region.
SCC plays today against Douglas College, Friday against Olympic College at Shoreview Park and on Sunday against Bellevue College at the Un. of Washington Softball Field at Noon.
