VETERANS SUPPORT SERVICES AT SCC
With increased numbers of veterans returning from Iraq and
Afghanistan and a new GI bill, Shoreline Community College is
developing a new plan for veteran support services.
“One of the most important things the campus community can do for
veterans is to understand they are making a transition between two
very different cultures,” said Kim Thompson, Director of Special
Services and chair of the Campus Veterans Education Team. “One of
our main responsibilities is to assist student veterans as they make
that transition and learn to negotiate the post secondary system.”
The college is providing that support in the form of two people who
have recently been assigned to ensure that our vets get all the help
they need.

Veterans Web Site.
The Veterans Department is housed in the Office of Special Services
in the FOSS Building (5000), Room 5226. Office Hours are
Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

"DEATH IS SHORT, MAKE
THE MOST OF IT!"
SCC Presents “Eurydice”
by Sarah Ruhl
7:30pm, Nov.
19-21 & 2pm, Nov. 22
(Ends Sunday)
Love,
death and rock and roll
take center stage in the
Shoreline Community
College production of
Sarah Ruhl’s
award-winning play, a
modern adaptation of the
classic myth,
“Eurydice."
“This is one of the most
ambitious projects that
the Shoreline Drama
Department has ever
undertaken. Building off
of the buzz that has
been steadily growing
around the Shoreline
theater community, the
time seemed right to
harness the enthusiasm
of the production staff
and a new group of eager
and talented actors to
take on a daring project
like this,” says
director Jesse Ross.
The scale and scope of
this production are
extraordinary, not just
for Shoreline Community
College, but for any
non-profit theater
organization in the
region. Set construction
began last summer and
the production as a
whole has relied on the
contributions of more
than 40 students,
faculty, and staff
members. Read
