* SCC Men's Soccer Defeats #5 Ranked Bellevue To Reach Final Four
The Shoreline Community College Dolphins pulled an upsharlow edmonds.jpget in the quarterfinals of the NWAACC Men's Soccer Playoffs as the SCC quad, led by goalkeeper Collin Harlow, shutout the second best offense in the NWAACC.  Kevin Flavin scored in the 67th minute on Ben Wilmont's assist to take the Dolphins to NWAACC Men's Soccer Final Four.  Bellevue had defeated Shoreline 6-1 earlier in the season, but on Saturday afternoon Harlow would not allow a goal, making several big saves (15 total).

Shoreline will face Highline Community College next Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila.

SCC has now won 8 straight games and ran its record to 8-7-2 after starting the season 0-7-2.  Bellevue College's record dropped to 12-5-2.  Highline will carry a 12-3-4 record in semi-finals next Saturday.  Shoreline has allowed only one goal in the last five matches it has played.

* SCC Men’s Soccer Wins Region and Hosts Playoff Game On Saturday

soccer_team_2010.JPGThe Shoreline Community College men’s soccer team won the NWAACC Northern Region on Saturday at Whatcom Community College as they won the match 1-0 on a goal by Greg Wolfe, assisted by Greg Testa, in the 80th minute. The Dolphins will host a second round NWAACC Playoff game on Saturday, at 4:00 PM at the Shoreline Stadium (off 185th street).

 

Shoreline will host the winner of Bellevue College and the Community College of Spokane, who play Wednesday night in the NWAACC first round. Admission to the game is $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for students and seniors/military. SCC students are admitted free.

 

Shoreline is 7-7-2 on the season, but are on a 7 game winning streak after going 0-7-2 to open the season, the squad ran their record against the Northern Region to 7-1 with the victory on Saturday. It is the first region title for SCC since 1993.
