SCC Summer Camps Begin June 24 With Boys and Girls Basketball Camp
The Shoreline Community College Athletic Department will sponsor 8 weeks of summer camps this summer, starting June 24 with Boys and Girls Basketball Camps. There will be volleyball and soccer camps as well during the summer.

SCC Summer Athletic Camps are designed for campers starting the 4th grade in 2013-14 up to high school seniors for next year. All camps are for boys and girls unless noted otherwise.

SCC head coaches, assistant coaches and student-athletes will lead the camps.

Josh Youngblood Scores 15 Points For North All-Stars
700_6142.JPGSophomore Josh Youngblood scoed 15 points for the NWAACC Northern Region All-Stars in the 117-105 Northern Region win against the NWAACC Western Region All-Stars.

SCC sophomore Kadeem Stewart scored 8 points with 5 assists in the game as well. But players played about 20 minutes in the All-Star game. 

Youngblood hit 6 of 17 shots and was 3 for 9 from three point range.700_6187.JPG He was the third leading scorer for the North squad and had 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal in the game.

Stewart was 3 for 9 shooting, 2 for 5 from three point range, had 1 rebound and 1 steal.
SCC Names Nahshon George and Joe Dickinson As "Men's Basketball Players of the Week"
300_5341.JPGShoreline Community College on Friday named sophomore Nahshon George and freshman Joe Dickinson as "Co-Players of the Week" for the final week of the season.

In that week, the Dolphins defeated Peninsula College 112-98 in overtime and then defeated Whatcom Community College 78-74 after being down by 17 points at half-time. SCC finished the season winning 7 out of 8 of their final games. to end the year 9-15 overall and 7-7 in the NWAACC Northern Region, one game out of the NWAACC Championships.300_8590.JPG

George scored 41 points with 33 rebounds and 1 blocked shot and 1 steal. Dickinson added 29 points, 21 rebounds with 2 steals and 5 assists.
SCC Men's Basketball Defeats Whatcom CC In Big Comeback!!
The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team came back from being 17 points down at half-time to defeat Whatcom Community College 78-74 on Saturday night in Bellingham, WA.

700_5475sc.jpgSCC trailed 47-30 at half-time but held the Orcas to 27 points in the second half and scored 48 themselves to win their final game of the 2012-13 season. SCC finished the year a disappointing 9-15 overall and 7-7 in the NWACCC Northern Region, but SCC won 8 out of the last 9 games they played and fell short by one game of forcing a play-in game to the NWAACC Championship. Whatcom moves to the NWAACC Championship as the #2 team in the region.

Shoreline used a balanced attack in the second half to overcome the700_6142.JPG Orcas, as Kadeem Stewart and Josh Youngblood scored 18 points each in the game and Nahshon George and Joe Dickinson added 16 and 15 each as well to finish out the double digit scoring for the Dolphins. George had 11 rebounds while Dickinson collected 10.

SCC Names Nahshon George As "Men's Basketball Player of the Week"
300_7876x.jpgShoreline Community College On Thursday named sophomore Nahshon George as SCC "Men's Basketball Player of the Week" for February 11-17.

The Dolphins split two games that week, losing to the NWAACC's #1 team, rival Edmonds Community College (99-88) and beating Skagit Valley College 94-84.

George, the NWAACC's leading rebounder, scored 33 points with 15 rebounds, 1 blocked shot and 3 steals for those two games.

SCC is now 8-14 for the season and 6-7 in the NWAACC Northern reason and finish the regular season at Whatcom Community College on Saturday in Bellingham, WA. If SCC defeats Whatcom and Bellevue College defeats Peninsula College on Saturday, those three teams would all be tied for the final playoff spot in the region and play-in games would have to played.
