Finding Web Sites: A Brief Overview

The World Wide Web provides billions of pages of information. The numbers increase exponentially every day. It's a huge source of text, images, sound and video. It seems that everyone has a web page - local and federal governments, companies, schools, churches - even the 10-year-old across the street. How on earth can you find relevant, quality information in all of that?

This module will provide some basic starting points for you:

  1. Decide what information is best found on the web;

  2. Use a variety of search tools to find what you need;

  3. Develop a specific search strategy and stay focused;

  4. Evaluate what you find very closely to make sure it's good information.
