While working on a college campus, we are often too busy to
stop and say thank you, thank you to colleagues who have made significant
contributions to our college and who have positively impacted the lives of so
many students.
Thank you, Lisa
Please join us in saying farewell to Lisa Hirayama,1-2 p.m., Thursday, May 24, Room 9303.
Refreshments will be served.
| This is one time to pause
and say thank you to Lisa Hirayama for 22 years of service to Shoreline
Community College. Lisa has accepted a
new position at Seattle Pacific University and will be leaving Shoreline June
1. While we wish her much success at
SPU, Lisa’s departure is a great loss to our college and international
programs.
Lisa is a founding leader of International Programs
at Shoreline. She directed International
Programs for a number of years, helping to shape and create the strong
department we have today. Lisa has
worked closely with all aspects of international education to include
admissions and immigration, marketing, advising and student services. She guided countless international students toward academic achievement and
success. She also led the development of our international high school
completion program and international transcript evaluation, helping many
students earn credit toward diplomas and degrees.
Most recently, Lisa served as the College’s
representative to the Inter-College Relations Commission. Over the years, staff and students have come
to rely on her knowledge and expertise. It is not easy to say goodbye to a
long time, respected colleague.
Lisa, thank you! Your contribution to Shoreline and students
will long outlive your tenure on campus.
We will miss you and wish you every success in your new position. Diana Sampson, International Education
