* Winter Wine Classes at Shoreline Community College

SHORELINE - Build your own collection of wine favorites for the holiday season.  Shoreline Community College offers wine appreciation classes with an emphasis on wines that tie to place and culture.  Enjoy “lips on” training at these classes.  Instructor Jeff Omalanz-Hood has been a gourmet cook and wine connoisseur for over 18 years.  Classes meet on Shoreline Community College’s main campus at 16101 Greenwood Avenue North in Shoreline.


Buying Bargain Bottles, Wednesday, January 16, 7 – 9pm, $39. What is most important: vintage, maker, region, or grape variety?  Find affordable drinkable wine


All Alsace, Wednesday, January 30, 7 – 9pm, $39. If you want to try some of the best white wine in the world, this class is for you.


Que Syrah, Syrah, Wednesday, February 13, 7 – 9pm, $39. Wines from the Northern Rhone, Washington, and Australia will be explored. Learn how they should be served and with what foods


Winey Bubbles, Wednesday, February 27, 7 – 9pm, $39. It's the season to celebrate French Champagne, Spanish Cava, Italian Asti, American sparklers and more. What's the difference? How do you choose one? We’ll discuss wine makers’ recommendations and foods that complement these great tastes.
